Oral Rehabilitation and Prosthodontics (LIROP)

Laboratory description

The main objectives of the Oral Rehabilitation and Prosthodontics Research Laboratory are:

- Investigate the fatigue resistance behavior of dental reconstruction devices, particularly prosthetic components used in implantology, focusing on their physical and mechanical nature.

- Assess the wear of materials supporting implant-supported rehabilitations and evaluate material behaviors under conditions of high cyclic loads, especially compressive loads.

- Study biomaterials and their fracture resistance, specifically polymethylmethacrylate, composite resins, and polyetheretherketone, when subjected to masticatory forces and adverse environments such as varying pH levels and temperatures.

The Oral Rehabilitation and Prosthodontics Laboratory  focuses on conducting fatigue resistance tests for prosthetic component devices, printing materials, dental cements, and materials such as PMMA, Composite, PEEK. These tests can simulate the oral cavity environment by using artificial saliva with different pH levels and temperatures.
